Terms of Use

The rules that govern your use of Taxflow: what we provide, what stays your responsibility, how subscriptions work, and where you stand if something goes wrong.

Last updated 19 August 2026

1. The agreement

These terms are a contract between you and Taxflow. By creating an account, joining the waitlist or otherwise using taxflow.com.ng, you accept them. If you are using Taxflow for a registered business, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for that business. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Who can use Taxflow

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract. You must be the rightful owner of, or an authorised signatory on, every account you connect. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for everything done through your account.

3. What Taxflow is — and is not

Taxflow is software that organises your transactions, classifies income and expenses, and prepares tax figures and reports. It is a preparation tool.

Taxflow is not a bank, is not licensed to give tax, legal, investment or accounting advice, and is not a government service. We are not endorsed by, affiliated with or acting on behalf of the Federal Inland Revenue Service or any State Internal Revenue Service. Nothing in the product is a substitute for advice from a qualified tax professional on your particular circumstances.

4. Connecting accounts and documents

When you connect a bank or fintech account, you authorise us to retrieve transaction data from it through a licensed open-banking provider. That access is read-only: Taxflow cannot move money, and will never ask for your banking password or a one-time passcode.

You can disconnect any account at any time from your settings. You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of anything you upload, and for making sure you have the right to share it.

5. Your responsibility for what you file

Taxflow classifies transactions automatically and shows you the reasoning behind each decision. You are expected to review that classification before relying on it, and you can override any of it. You remain solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of any return you file and for any tax, interest or penalty due. Filing deadlines and payment obligations are yours to meet.

6. Subscriptions and payment

  • Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, at the price shown at checkout. Prices are in Nigerian Naira and include applicable VAT unless stated otherwise.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel before renewal. Cancelling stops the next charge; it does not refund the current period.
  • If a payment fails we may suspend access until it is settled. Data is retained during suspension in line with our Privacy Policy.
  • We may change pricing with at least 30 days' notice by email. Continuing to use a paid plan after that notice period means you accept the new price.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Connect an account you are not authorised to access.
  • Submit false, forged or altered documents.
  • Use Taxflow to launder money, evade tax or commit any other offence.
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, resell or attempt to extract the classification models behind the service.
  • Interfere with the platform's security or availability, or with other users.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, and will tell you why unless the law prevents us.

8. Intellectual property

The Taxflow name, mark, software, interface and content belong to us. You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service while your account is in good standing. Your financial data and documents remain yours; you grant us only the licence needed to process them and deliver the service to you.

9. Availability

We work to keep Taxflow available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may carry out maintenance, and we may change or withdraw features. Where a change materially reduces what a paid plan provides, we will give reasonable notice.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Nigerian law, Taxflow's total liability arising out of or in connection with the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profits, goodwill or data. Nothing here limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Ending the agreement

You may close your account at any time from your settings. We may end this agreement on reasonable notice, or immediately for a serious breach. On termination your licence ends; the sections on responsibility, intellectual property, liability and governing law survive. You can export your data before closing, and we retain records afterwards only as described in the Privacy Policy.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If something goes wrong, contact us first at [email protected] — most issues are settled that way. Any dispute we cannot resolve within 30 days will be submitted to the courts of Lagos State.
